This recollection is that of a shamanic journey I took with one of my shaman teachers. I often use intuitive and shamanic methods to discern parts of my life’s purpose. I find these methods empowering and truth telling. Here is the story of what I asked upon launching my coaching practice.
He started drumming, I slipped into a dream.
I stood at the top of the stairs. Then I started going down, following a light downward in a dark, earthy spiral staircase.
The lower I went, the more dense it felt. The air became humid but not warm. Once I reached the bottom it was dark briefly. Then the light appeared again as an orb and I could see him, a very loving, wise wolf. He didn’t look at me, just wanted me to follow. He led me across a dark field. I could see a dense forest emerge from the darkness suddenly and there was a light just inside the forest. It was a fire with a council of wolves sitting around it. They felt so at one with everything, also loving and wise. They spoke to me, but not with words. I could hear their minds. The wolf that led me there walked me to the circle and sat next to me. I could tell they had assembled for my question.
I asked them for guidance on which of my gifts I should share in my coaching practice to help people the most.
A young male spoke first. “Healing. You need to bring in healing.”
Another one said, “Yes, your own healing. Tell your story. They need to know how you did what you did.”
“And you must deepen your own work.”
“Show them the behind the scenes.”
“Yes, and give them different ways to access the information because they will be at different places in their journey.”
Then I could sense that they had said as much as I needed.
They asked me to partake in the meat they were grilling, rabbit. And I did. In eating the food it was another way for me to take their message with me.
The wolf beside me then led me back the way we came and I left knowing that these wolves would be here for good. A spiritual board of advisors.
As we approached the stairs I saw a basket of carrots. I felt them, they felt cold, but foundational and good. They presented a tension and I wanted to explore and resolve it, but my cup was already full.
I journeyed back up the stairs. They felt a bit hard to go back up.
I felt I received the guidance I was seeking.
This important takeaway has lead me to prioritize truth and transparency in my coaching. It has also encouraged me to bring to light all the healing work I have done along side my own coaching and growth to create a total inner and outer transformation. This sharing will be available to validate those going through their own transformational life journeys that came seem hard and present obstacles that most people would stop at.
Are you ready for your own journey? I would love to work with you!
